1. Shaumari Wildlife Reserve: the best national park for wildlife
This 22 kilometers squared reserve in Jordan was the country’s first wildlife protection reserve. It was created to become home to endangered animals such as Arabian oryx, Persian onagers, and gazelles with ongoing efforts to protect their conservation. 2. Azraq Wetland Reserve

3. Dana Biosphere Reserve
Dana Biosphere Reserve is the largest reserve in the country, and it gives visitors Jurassic Park movie vibes. It is known for its archeological sites, hiking trails, splendid views, and rich history. In this reserve, you can find 36 reptile species and more than 40 species of mammals including sand cats and caracals.
4. Mujib Biosphere Reserve
Located in Madaba governorate near the Dead Sea, Mujib Biosphere Reserve is another stop for migrating flocks of birds. Significant for its biodiversity, this reserve is home to 400 species of plants and 24 species of mammals!
5. Ajloun Forest Reserve
The Ajloun Forest Reserve in the north of Jordan offers a choice of trails for avid hikers, whether you’re seeking an easy walk or a sweat-inducing steep climb. There is a lot to entice nature lovers in this mixed woodland forest as it is made up of pistachio, strawberry, oak, and carob trees, providing a green lung for the region.
